This Delorean DMC Has Come Back From The Past

The DeLorean DMC-12 was the sole vehicle built by the DeLorean Motor Company before it was liquidated thanks to a combination of tough economic conditions and the arrest of company founder, John DeLorean, on drug trafficking charges. He was later acquitted but the damage was done and only8,583 cars were completedin its short two-year production run.

The DMC-12 was neither dynamically brilliant or especially quick, a contemporary Porsche 911 would easily leave it for dead. The 130 horsepower 2.85-liter V6 could barely get it to 88 mph. Instead, its USP was the brushed stainless-steel bodywork and those cool gullwing doors. Don't examine those shut lines too closely though, that is how they all looked.

This factory-fresh example comes with a five-speed manual transmission which is far preferable to the optional three-speed auto and the lack of performance is not an issue here seeing as its new owner is unlikely to be adding many more miles to the current total.

Just in case though, the car received a set of new drive belts and fluids when the current owner purchased it which would have taken place in October 2018. The current highest bid stands at $37,000 and you have two days to decide whether that is a fair price to pay to relive your childhood fantasies.
