There's Potentially Bad Hyundai Veloster News

The second-generationHyundai Velosterdebuted at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show and went on sale for the 2019 model year. In other words, it's still a relatively new and up-to-date vehicle that should see a mid-life facelift relatively soon. The keyword there is 'should.' CarsDirect discovered that, as of the first of this month, the South Korean automaker is no longer offering any Veloster rebates, APR financing deals, or lease incentives.

The good news (for now) is that there are still offers for the2021 Veloster Nhot hatch, which just received a DCT gearbox option (and a price increase) for the new model year. Instead of those typical standard Veloster offers, Hyundai is offering something called Final Pay, a special type of dealer incentive designed specifically for one thing: to clear out unsold models.

Does this mean the standard Veloster is finished after the current model year? We've reached out to Hyundai for comment but we don't expect to hear back until after the long weekend holiday. Veloster shoppers may or may not have noticed that all nationwide incentives ended after March 31 and, on top of that, inventory across the country is running very low.

According to the report, there are only around 200 Velosters currently available and many are Veloster Ns. Right, so, could this possibly mean the Veloster and Veloster Turbo models are being discontinued after 2021? It's possible, though the online configurator is still up and running for all Veloster trims.
