The spoiler is said to weigh a third less compared to the series rear wing.

Porsche specialist TechArthas a treat for owners of the911 Carreraand 911 GT3 Touring 992 generation models. Dubbed Rear Spoiler III, the new carbon fiber rear spoiler improves downforce and adds a stylish finish to the back of the timeless sports car.

The spoiler lip is finished in carbon fiber. Meanwhile, the base frame can be painted to match the vehicle's color, available in matte or high gloss visible carbon fiber. This allows owners to install an aftermarket spoiler that almost looks like something from the factory.

The Rear Spoiler III does not have an active aero function like the GT3's more track-oriented version, theGT3 RS, whichboasts a drag reduction system(DRS). But TechArt promises the fixed rear spoiler provides high and well-balanced downforce in all driving modes.

一个side from aerodynamics, the Stuttgart-based firm also constructed integrated air ducts. These increase airflow to the intercoolers, resulting in improved engine cooling. The overall weight of the aftermarket spoiler is a third less compared to the series rear wing.

Speaking of engine, the 911 Carrera uses a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engine that makes 379 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque. It has a top speed of 182 mph.

Meanwhile, the911 GT3gets a 4.0-liter naturally-aspirated flat-six for 502 hp and 346 lb-ft of torque. Regarding top speed, Porsche claims the NA sports car can reach 197 mph.

With added downforce, we can theoretically expect a lower top speed than what was mentioned. In contrast, the benefits would be a more balanced cornering performance and subjectively more stylish looks. To see how TechArt aftermarket parts would look, the company has a fun-to-use3D configurator you can useon its website.

TechArt did not disclose the pricing in the press release. But for the eligible Porsche models, the 911 Carrera starts at $114,400, while the 911 GT3 Touring starts at $182,900 in the US.
