TEASED: This Is The New BMW M4 GT4

The M4 GT4 will slot in neatly between theM2 CS Racingand the M4 GT3 pictured below. Set to be revealed on June 17, BMW Motorsport has said deliveries of the track-focused performer will commence before the end of the year. The GT4 will gain motivation from the M4's twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six and, while racing regulations may see it produce less power than the road-legal Competition, it will be a far lighter machine.

BMW has also said the GT4 will make use of the road car's transmission but will borrow its CFC roof and rear wing design from the more powerful GT3 derivative. Performance and technical data is yet to be revealed, but we're confident it will surpass the 431 hp afforded by the previous generation - it should be more expensive, too.

Revealed in 2017, the F82 GT4 retailed for €169,000 (approx. $179,000) at the time. We wouldn't be surprised if the latest model breaches the $200,000 mark.

If you're hoping to catch a glimpse of the reveal, you best start making plans to get down to Virginia; BMW plans to lift the lid on the M4 GT4 at the 2022 SRO Americas Championship. "The car will be displayed over the weekend with a full technical briefing planned," said BMW Motorsport's Dan Lubin.

This reveal will follow the introduction of theBMW M Hybrid V8, a striking LMDh prototype that will compete in this year's IMSA race series. The stunning V8 racer produces a healthy 671 horsepower, which should prove plenty in something weighing just 2,271 lbs.

While it has some typical BMW styling cues, the M Hybrid V8 is a massive departure in terms of design. However, traditional design elements such as the kidney grilles and signature M mirrors lend the racer its Bavarian identity.
