Teaser /2 Comments

Close your eyes and you could be listening to an F1 car.

Lamborghini's Squadra Corsa in-house racing department has been busy lately. After showing off ahardcore version of the Uruscalled the ST-X, Squadra Corsateased a new V12 enginethat will produce a whopping 830 horsepower. The engine will be used in a mystery track car that is rumored to use the SVR name, which pays homage to the Miura SVR.

Squadra Corsa is aiming its latest creation at other track-only supercars like the Ferrari FXX-K and McLaren Senna GTR. The car may be loosely based on theLamborghini Aventadorbut like the Sesto Elemento, it will be built from the ground up for track duty. Squadra Corsa just posted another teaser video of the car, giving us greater detail of what it will look like.

The car is shown in full for only two brief moments in the video. One shows the car streaking by the camera, creating a complete blur in the process. The other is an aerial view taken from an extremely high altitude, making it difficult to see the car's details. We are able to see more from the close-up angles, showing the extreme bodywork fitted around the car. This is clearly not a road-legal car as evidenced by the massive scoops, rear diffuser, and large rear wing.

Along with a powerful V12 engine, the car will be equipped with a racing sequential transmission from Xtrac paired with a mechanical self-locking type differential. Lamborghini has previously said drivers will be able to adjust the differential for different track surfaces.

When this track car is announced, we expect it to arrive with a price tag that is well into the seven-digit vicinity. This is likely to be Lamborghini's last naturally aspirated V12 car as the automaker moves towards hybridization with cars like the Sian and the upcoming replacement for the Aventador. We expect this Squadra Corsa car to be built in extremely limited numbers for a handful of lucky customers.
