斯巴鲁Crosstrek Finally Getting The Engine It Deserves

The斯巴鲁Crosstrek我s one of the Japanese automaker's most popular models in the US. While the Subaru Outback is often considered its signature model, the second-generation Crosstrek's presence on America's roads and highways continues to increase. Launched for the 2018 model year, thelatest Crosstrekhas generally been praised in all major categories, such as value, handling, and overall owner satisfaction. There is, however, one area where many owners have been less than pleased: power.

Aside from the Crosstrek Hybrid, the only engine currently on offer is the 2.0-liter boxer-four with 152 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque. The good news is that Subaru listens to its customers.

According to Automotive News, Subaru of America CEO Tom Doll recently stated at a National Automobile Dealers Association meeting, the Crosstrek will soon receive a larger and more powerful engine option.

As of this writing, Subaru had no further comment, but it's fairly easy to speculate which engine the Crosstrek will soon have. The 2.5-liter boxer-four, currently found in the斯巴鲁Outback, Legacy, and Forester, has a healthier 182 hp and 176 lb-ft on tap. That additional 30 ponies and 31 lb-ft will definitely be felt. As all new Subarus are built on the company's flexible global platform, it's no problem for that engine to fit right in there
