The 2024 Acura Integra Type S is powered by a 2.0-liter DOHCturbocharged VTEC engine that churns out 320 horsepowerand 310 lb-ft of torque. These numbers show an increase of 120 hp and 118 lb-ft over the standard Integra. Acura also shared that the Integra Type S has optimized throttle tuning resulting in quick throttle response and 33% greater displacement than the standard Integra. The engine is then connected to a short-throw six-speed manual transmission with a rev-matching system.

Acura, the luxury and performance division of Honda, is no stranger to F1. From 1989 to 1992, Honda F1 drivers Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost wore Acura visors at the Canadian and US Grand Prix. Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello also displayed the Acura logo on their visors during the 2007 Canadian Grand Prix.

In 2021,Acura returned to F1but not as an engine supplier or constructor team. Its comeback was part of Honda's promotional or marketing campaign for the Acura brand.

Red Bull Racing and Scuderia AlphaTauri F1 cars, teams powered by Honda engines during that time, were integrated with Acura branded livery, driving suits, and helmet visors for the 2021 Aramco United States Grand Prix - a race won by Red Bull F1 driver Max Verstappen, F1's current defending champion.

Verstappen also got early dibs on Honda/Acura cars before in the form of the 800-hp IndyCar-poweredHonda CR-V Hybrid Racer. He thoroughly enjoyed that one, with the champ seen hooning around in the electrified race car.
