一个ccording to dealers, the supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi Hellcat will be available for another year.
Dodge has officially confirmed that the Challenger and Charger will join the list ofcars headed to the graveyardat the end of 2023, while the replacement modelswill not be V8-powered.
However, the Hellcat will live on in Stellantis' bigger machines, specifically the Durango and Ram 1500. According to dealers, the 702-horsepower supercharged 6.2-liter V8 will still be available in the Ram 1500 TRX. This confirms that the Raptor R rival will return for the 2024 model year.
The report came from5th Gen Rams, which cited dealer connections as the source. The site also mentioned that there would be minimal changes to the Hellcat-powered truck.
一个ccording to the publication, the expected changes in the 2024 Ram TRX include the omission of Hydro Blue (PBJ) from the truck's exterior paint options. Other color options, such as Billet Silver (PSC), Bright White (PW7), Diamond Black (PXJ), Flame Red (PR4), and Granite Crystal (PAU, will be retained. The TR, TR1, and TR2 Equipment groups also remain unchanged.
一个s for pricing, the dealer sources didn't disclose anything for now, though it's expected that prices would go up due to inflation. The currentRam 1500 TRXstarts at under $85,000 without destination charges.
Beyond 2024, the Ram 1500 lineup will reportedly get thehigh-output Hurricane inline-six enginefor the 2025 model year, coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It will be offered as an option, with the current 3.6-liter naturally-aspirated Pentastar V6 and 5.7-liter Hemi V8 still serving as standard options depending on the trim level.
Mike Koval, the former CEO of Ram, toldCarBuzzthat itcould get more out of the Ram TRXby using electrification but stopped short of confirming such a model. "I think about the future and what that could potentially look like with electrification, and we have the expertise to do more, and that's the cliffhanger," said Koval.
If a more powerful Ram TRX is coming, we expect it to debut simultaneously as the EV and facelifted model, both of which will be 2025 models.
