You can now track how quickly you smashed the school run.

Porsche's expansion into new segments over the last two decades has not come at the expense of the brand's ability to entertain from behind the wheel. Whether you buy aCayenneSUV, Panamera跑车,或legendar Taycan EV,y Porsche DNA still shines through brightly. To drive home this message, the automaker is now making itsPorsche Track Precision App(PTPA) available to the models mentioned above. This feature has already been available to 718 and911models for some time. The PTPA is essentially a digital driving coach that can improve your driving style over time via data collection and analysis.

For Porsche owners occasionally visiting the track, the feature is especially beneficial. The app won't only track your lap times, but can also help you improve braking points or hone turn-in points, while picking up any driver errors along the way. The PTPA is linked to the Porsche Communication Management system and the in-car Wi-Fi. A vast amount of information is then fed back to the driver like lap time projections, speed, steering angle, vehicle position, and lateral acceleration. This data can then be linked with smartphone recordings or action cam videos, and shared on social media so your followers can keep up with your latest track exploits.

300 race tracks globally have been pre-loaded and stored in the app, optimizing data recording and analysis. Once you've left the car, you can simply AirDrop the data to your iPad to analyze your heroics. There is one catch, however. The PTPA requires the Sport Chrono package in order to use it. On a model like the Panamera 4S, this package will add $2,290 to the bill. The price differs between models, however, as the Sport Chrono package on the base Cayenne SUV is $1,130. With a series of models that have setrecord-breaking lap times, the PTPA is the perfect tool for owners to see if they can set a few personal records of their own.
