Porsche Reveals Special Accessory For 911 GT3 Buyers

It has been a very busy month for Porsche, with the recent launch of thebrand-new 911 GT3. Now that the new car has made its first official public appearance the aftermarket scene will soon follow with specialist bits and pieces, but unbeknownst to most911 GT3fans, there is already an aftermarket accessory available for the new car, the only catch is that it doesn't fit on the car but on the driver. Porsche Design has revealed its new Chronograph 911 GT3 wristwatch that will be exclusively available to those who've paid for a new 2022 Porsche 911 GT3.

So what makes this watch so special, besides the fact that you need to own a 911 GT3 to get one? Well, the casing is made from titanium for starters, and it even comes with its own online configurator. The watch is offered with either tachymeter or minute scales and the strap can be had in either genuine Porsche leather or titanium. Naturally the watch makes use of the finest mechanisms and its WERK 01.200 caliber offers flyback chronograph functionality. The auto winding rotor even comes in the shape of the Porsche 911 GT3's wheels, and can be specified in six different colors. The price for one of these bad boys? $8,500.

Porsche is yet to announce a price for the actual car, but its stats are equally impressive. Under the hood of the new GT3 lies a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six that revs to 9,000 rpm and churns out 502 horsepower and 346 lb-ft of torque. This allows the GT3 to bolt to sixty miles per hour in only 3.2 seconds, and continue on to a top speed of 197 mph. Compared to the old car, downforce has been improved by 50 percent in normal mode, and an astonishing 150 percent in track mode. To top it all off, the new car has lapped the Nurburgring-Nordschleife in 6:59.927 which is17秒更快than its predecessor. Buy one and you can time yourself on your fancy new watch.
