Mazda MX-5 Gets Aston Martin Makeover With Simple Body Kit

TheMazda Miata MX-5has to be one of themost belovedrear-wheel-drive sports cars in existence, and despite its diminutive size and low power outputs, many consider it to be one of the best driver's cars ever produced. The MX-5 is famous for its great driving dynamics andsuccess in motorsportbut less so for its looks. Sure the first generation car delighted with its flip-up headlights, but after that, it toned things down quite a bit. The latest generation ND is possibly the best-looking generation since the first, but Japanese tuning company Craftech believes it has improved on the factory design by turning the car into a mini Aston Martin.

What Craftech has achieved here is quite impressive: the company has taken the shapely body of the ND and has managed to transform it into an Aston-Martin look alike without being overly obvious. From the front, it looks like a babyAston Martin Vantage, which could never be a bad thing. The front bumper mimics that of the Aston's to a tee, and the Mazda's angled headlights work perfectly with the new look. According to Craftech the kit "is a simple yet mature design with a strong presence. The balance between the upper part of the bumper and the cheeks at the tip of the fender is exquisite, and the overall silhouette is wide and low."
