Listen To Ferrari's New Hybrid V6 In Action

Cruising around the Italian town, we get our first moving glimpse of Ferrari's upcoming hybrid model. Since the car isn't being driven around the track, there are no opportunities (or need) for the driver to mash the accelerator. We still hear a pretty growly exhaust even at low speeds; it's likely much louder at full tilt. So for anyone worrying that a V6-powered Ferrari won't sound like a proper supercar, we think those fears can fade away. Just remember, the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio has a V6, and it sounds fantastic.

Though it's not shown in the video, this new Ferrari will likely include an all-electric driving mode like the SF90. With only the electric motors engaged, the SF90 is a front-wheel-drive vehicle with 217 horsepower that can travel only eight miles on a charge. Together with the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, the SF90 develops 986 total hp.

The Maserati MC20 produces 621 hp with no electric assist, so the Ferrari should exceed that output. We anticipate the baby SF90 model will produce over 800 hp from its twin-turbo V6 and electric motors. It's unclear if this model will adopt the SF90's all-wheel-drive system.
