Which one is the ultimate seven-seater?

If we want to decide whichluxury SUVis the better deal, the first thing we have to consider here is price. For this comparison, we're putting the 2016 base-level "Convenience FWD" trim Buick Enclave up against the 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited FWD to see which offers the most value and performance for your hard-earned cash. The new Enclave has a suggested retail price of $39,990, while the Hyundai is somewhat cheaper at $35,395.

If you're responsible for hauling six or seven people around, which daily driver is a better deal? Both of these models givepowerto thefront wheelsonly, with the Buick using a 3.6-liter V6 and the Hyundai sporting a 3.3-liter engine of the same configuration. Choosing the American over the Korean will get you 288 horsepower instead of 290, and the former vehicle pulls along with 270 pound-feet of torque while the latter only produces 252 pound-feet. The sophisticated Enclave will get you around the city with slightly better gas mileage, although it does lose out to its segment competitor. Both V6s have dual overhead camshaft architecture and four values per cylinder.

Buick

The 2016 Buick Enclave is no lightweight in terms of, well… weight. It's been that waysince the beginning. Because we're talking base trim levels here, the weight of the Buick in question is a whopping 4,724 lbs at curb weight. If you're considering either of these two cars, there's a good possibility that you've got somekidsin your life. It's important to remember that while the Buick Enclave can technically seat eight, it'snot supposed to. Plan accordingly. The Hyundai is also considerably unsafe/unconfortable with any more than seven as well. If you absolutely must be able to transport eight people, check out full-size SUVs such as the roomyFord Expedition, Nissan Armada, or perhaps a Chevrolet Suburban.
