Honda Civic Hatch Production Remains On Track

A couple of months ago, the newHonda Civichatchwas revealed. We've been waiting for this car for some time and can't wait to drive it. With a load ofnew accessories available, this car is all about fun and joy, so we're certainly not the only ones who want to get behind the wheel. Unfortunately, we've had to curb our enthusiasm for a lot of new vehicles that we want to try out because of the globalshortage of semiconductor chips. This has slowed or stopped production for countless different brands and their respective models. Fortunately, a dealer notice sent out yesterday confirms that the Civic hatch won't be delayed.

According to the document posted on the CivicXI forum, the severity of the Covid-19 pandemic in Southeast Asia is combining with the chip shortage to cause delays worldwide, and Honda says dealers will be "impacted over the next several weeks."

To help deal with the problem, Honda will start to slow production on various models from this week, saying that for September, dealer arrivals are expected to be 40% lower than expected. However, some models will be more impacted than others, and the Pilot and Passport are expected to continue being supplied steadily. Furthermore, "production of the MY22 Civic Hatchback is still expected to get underway, as planned, in late September."
