Ford's Humble Everest SUV Gets The Raptor Treatment

With an F-150 Raptor R front end and chunky off-road tires, this unique build gives us a glimpse of what an Everest Raptor could look like.

While American consumers will soon be able to get their hands on the all-newFord Ranger, the Blue Oval has no plans to introduce theappealing Everest in the States.

It's a different story overseas, with the Ranger-based SUV offered in several markets, including Australia, South Africa, and Thailand. The Asian nation has a grand love affair with these Ford products, and one aftermarket shop has decided to create a unique iteration of the Everest, decked out with Raptor styling cues and an F-150 front end.

First discovered byThe Drive, this special off-roader has been enhanced by Shana E-sport with chunky wheel arch extensions, Raptor stickers, and the front fascia fromthe newly-launched F-150 Raptor R. But it's not just about rugged looks. The Everest receives AMP Terrain Attack A/T tires and increased ground clearance, making it even more capable off-road.

There's no mention of whether the suspension has been upgraded to Raptor standards. The new Ranger Raptoris equipped with Fox 2.5-inch Live Valve Bypass shocks which adjust based on the various Drive Modes. There's a coil-over setup up front and piggyback reservoirs at the rear, along with upgraded mounting points, front shock towers, and rear shock brackets.

Fitting all these components to the Everest would be costly and take plenty of time. It's still neat to see what an Everest Raptor would look like if the automaker decided to put it into production.

目前尚不清楚这引擎驱动this particular model. The Everest is available with a variety of engines which differ depending on the market. A gas-powered 2.3-liter four-cylinder is complimented by a slew of turbodiesel engines, including a 2.0-liter four-cylinder and a lusty 3.0-liter V6.

Were Ford to introduce an Everest Raptor, we assume it would employ the same gasoline 3.0-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 engine with 405 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. An automatic gearbox is the only transmission option. Depending on the chosen engine, the Everest receives a six- or ten-speed 'box. Of course, four-wheel drive is available.

Here in the United States, buyers who want Raptor performance in an SUV body style do, at least, have the range-topping Bronco to choose from. With 418 hp, it has even more power than the Ranger Raptor and is equipped with aseriously impressive suspension system. However, all this capabilitycomes at a hefty price, with the entry MSRP coming in at over $86,000.

Seeing as the new Ranger Raptor costs $56,960, a potential Everest Raptor could come in at just over $60,000, making it a steal compared to the Bronco Raptor.
