Ford's Godzilla V8 Engine Gets Massive Power Upgrade

Wolfe has been busy transplanting Ford's 7.3-liter V8 into a Fox-Body Mustang and in this latest video posted by YouTube channel REVan Evan he shows how a ProCharger supercharger with a huge pulley can boost the output significantly.

When hooked up to the dyno, the engine produced 965 hp and 845 lb-ft of torque. Impressively, this output was achieved at just 5,900 rpm, so the engine wasn't even being pushed hard. This exceeded all expectations since the customer only wanted around 850 hp. However, this setup can produce a lot more power than that.

With larger injectors, Wolfe estimates the engine will make around 975-1,000 hp. For this customer build, Ford's Godzilla engine is also upgraded with Stage 2 heads, upgraded pistons, a dry sump, and a mild cam. Since the customer only wanted around 850 hp, the intakes, throttle body, and crank were left stock. With a new intake and a small pulley, Wolfe thinks the engine could produce as much as 1,200-1,300 hp, so it's only a matter of time before tuners unleash Godzilla's full potential.
