DELAYED: Chevy Blazer EV SS Not Coming This Year

The high-performance variant of theChevrolet Blazer EV, the Blazer EV SS, will not hit the market until the spring of 2024, per the latest information on Chevy'sconsumer-facing website. This update is a surprise, as General Motors initially announced that the SS variant would be available by late 2023.

Revealed last year, fans have been eagerly awaiting the performance version to hit dealerships. The reason behind this delay remains unclear at this time. However, it is worth noting that the base starting price of the Blazer EV SS remains unchanged at $65,995, including the destination charge.

The performance version of the electric SUV would have given GM a lineup of EVs at different segments and prices. It has previously sought todominate the electric vehicle(EV) market by releasing high-end flagship models such as theGMC Hummer EVand Cadillac Lyriq. During the Blazer EV's unveiling in July 2022, Chevrolet outlined a launch timeline for various trim levels.

According to the original plan, the 2LT and RS trims were scheduled to arrive in the summer of 2023, while the base-version 1LT was launched in Q1 2023, along with the Police Pursuit Vehicle (PPV) variants. While the exact date of arrival of the SS wasn't disclosed before, it was mentioned that it would happen later this year.
