Brabus Turns Mercedes GLB-Class Into A 267-HP Brute

Tuning /6 Comments

Yet another menacing creation comes from the German tuners.

TheMercedes-Benz GLB-Classis a sensible and stylish SUV, slotting in above the GLA-Class as a compact three-row crossover in the vein of a mini-GLS. But because it's made by the company with the three-pointed star, it was only a matter of time before Brabus turned its attention to the crossover with a comprehensive package addressing looks, stance, and performance. The German tuning firm will upgrade almost anything you can think of, includingmaking the body panels bulletproof. Now the GLB-Class is getting upgrades that enhance the looks and increase power to 267 horsepower with 317 lb-ft of torque, increases of 46 hp and 59 lb-ft, respectively.

The power upgrade comes courtesy of a Bottrop PowerXtra B25 kit that makes the GLB 250 capable of sprinting from 0-62 mph in 6.6 seconds with a top speed of 149 mph. Other engines will get performance upgrades once development is completed, but for now, all GLB models with an AMG Line kit can benefit from a two-piece front spoiler, air intake inserts, a new roof rack with auxiliary headlights, a rear spoiler, and black chromed quad-exit exhaust tips. Of course, no aftermarket conversion is complete without a set of blingy wheels, so various 18-, 19-, and 20-inch offerings are available. The pictures depict 20s with specially-developed sport springs addressing the stance by lowering it by around 1.2 inches.

Whether Brabus is squeezing every last bit of power out of a car ormaking electric SUVs cooler, the company never forgets to address the interior of its creations. Thus, the GLB's conversion is offered with backlit anodized aluminum scuff plates that bear the Brabus logo and synchronize with the cars existing 64-color ambient lighting system. Matte anodized aluminum pedals are offered too, along with new floor mats and a matching trunk mat. And the best part of all? The Brabus components all come with a three-year/62,000-mile warranty. Once again, Brabus is showing itself to be the eminent Mercedes tuner, and this GLB is one of the best-looking builds on offer.
