2024 Cadillac Escalade And Escalade-V Revealed With Modest Updates

Luxury /Comments

Super Cruise is now standard on all but the base model.

Cadillac has announced the 2024 model year updates for theEscaladeand Escalade-V. The most significant change for 2024 is the inclusion of Super Cruise as standard on all but the base Luxury model. This applies to both the standard 'Sclade and the long-wheelbase ESV model.

In addition to making the former $2,500 option standard, Cadillac has partnered with OnStar to provide a three-year Premium Plan as part of the price. Super Cruise has to be connected for the system to operate optimally, and the road you're driving on has to be mapped. While Super Cruise is not perfect,we used it on a trip between LA and Las Vegasand found it to be a worthwhile inclusion on a luxury vehicle.

Once the three-year deal runs out, you can expect to pay around $50 per month for OnStar access, though these rates may look different a few years from now.

The Escalade-V also gets the Super Cruise update mentioned above, plus the addition of a20th Anniversary V-Series Package. Caddy has also added a new exterior hue called Black Diamond Tricoat.

These are the only changes for the 2024 model year, but the current Escalade is still relatively new. It was introduced as a 2022 model. Caddy only added a few new color options last year and made the owner's manual available via the infotainment screen. We expect the first round of extensive changes to be announced for the 2025 model year.

Cadillac introduced theall-new fully-electric Escalade IQearlier this year as a 2025 model, so it makes the most sense to refresh the entire range when the IQ hits dealership floors near the end of 2024.

The rest of the features and engine options are carried over as is. The standard engine is a 6.2-liter V8 producing 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque, but a 3.0-liter six-cylinder turbodiesel delivering 277 hp and 460 lb-ft is also available for a fee. The cost of the diesel depends on the trim level. On the 2023 model, the price difference ranges from $1,600 to $5,000. Both engines are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. Rear-wheel-drive is standard, and 4WD is an optional extra.

Cadillac still needs to provide pricing updates for the 2024 model, but we'll get back to you as soon as the online configurator goes live. The Escalade-V isalready an expensive machine, costing $20k more than a V8-powered Range Rover and slightly more than theaesthetically challenged Alpina XB7.
