Cadillac has reimagined the iconicEscaladefor the future, debuting the 2025Escalade IQ, a full-size electric luxury SUV with plenty of tech, loads of power, and an impressive estimated driving range.

Before we examine what makes the Escalade IQ such a remarkable luxury vehicle, let's look at the under-the-skin details. Two electric motors produce an estimated 750 hp and 785 lb-ft of torque, propelling this hefty EV to 60 mph in approximately five seconds. An eAWD drive system is standard and should provide the Escalade IQ with plenty of grip and on-road stability.

A 24-module Ultium battery gives the electric Caddy power and serves up 200 kWh of energy. The Escalade IQ employs 800-volt electric architecture, allowing for DC fast charging. Cadillac says the battery can recoup 100 miles of range from just 10 minutes of charging. An estimated range of 450 miles is impressive, besting several other high-end electric rivals.

Comfort And Technology Abound

The sophisticated suspension system ensures passengers are treated to a magic carpet ride. The independent suspension (front and rear) uses Magnetic Ride Control 4.0 and Adaptive Air Ride, which cossets passengers while offering sharper steering feedback and nimbler handling.

Despite the substantial exterior dimensions, piloting the Escalade IQ through narrow streets and crowded cities shouldn't be a problem. The four-wheel steer system makes for a 39.4-foot turning circle at lower speeds, which makes it easier to navigate smaller parking garages.

There's also a nifty Cadillac Arrival Mode, a four-wheel steering system that enables the Escalade IQ to move diagonally. This sounds similar to the Hummer EV'sCrabWalk mode, which allows the vehicle to extricate itself from tight parallel parking spaces.

Adaptive Air Ride can be lowered by up to two inches and raised by one inch, making it even more practical. The Escalade IQ can be driven on its lowest suspension setting when traveling at low speeds.

Familiar Boxy Styling Makes Way For Sleek New Design

Escalade IQ will also be equipped with Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) bidirectional charging tech. This will allow owners to direct electricity from the Escalade IQto a properly-equipped home. We've already seen this with the Ford F-150 Lightning, which can power a home for up to 10 days if required.

Regarding styling, the exterior of the Escalade IQ is a drastic departure from the Escalade we know and love. With its Lyriq-inspired front end and sleeker bodywork, it has lost some of the ICE-powered counterpart's presence, but it's got a unique look. The electric architecture has given designers more freedom when it comes to exterior styling.

There's a sleeker roofline, and the wheels are positioned further into the corners. The more curvaceous look contributes to the impressive efficiency, with Cadillac noting it is the most aerodynamic full-size SUV that General Motors has ever built. The drag coefficient has been reduced by 15% compared to previous models.

Plenty Of Luxury And Practicality To Be Found Here

The rear of the Escalade adopts the Cadillac EV styling ethos with two sets of taillights positioned on the fascia and on either side of the rear screen, respectively. Other exterior highlights include 24-inch wheels, available power-closing and opening doors, and a practical frunk that provides 12 ft3of additional storage space.

Escalade IQ customers can choose between two trim levels: Sport and Luxury. Both grades offer a distinctive interior look, with the more traditional Luxury model using bright aluminum finishes. In contrast, the Sport uses a darkened metal finish on the wheels and various trim bits. A total of seven paint finishes are available, along with a black contrast roof.

If you find all this impressive, the Escalade IQ's interior will bowl you over. It's a beautifully crafted cabin that mixes old-school luxury with plenty of technology.

Celestiq-Inspired Tech Transforms Escalade IQ Into A Tour De Force

The highlight of the cabin is undoubtedly the 55-inch (diagonal) LED screen that spans the dashboard's width. Computing power comes courtesy of Qualcomm's highly advanced Snapdragon Cockpit platform. Cadillac says the infotainment screen "raises the bar for in-vehicle experiences" and will come equipped with Google built-in.

This includes Google Maps, Google Play, and Google Assistant, making it a feature-rich experience and enabling customers to receive information such as live traffic updates. Many technologies first seen on the range-topping Celestiq havefiltered down to the Escalade IQ.

Over time, the intuitive virtual Smart Controls will learn and anticipate the driver's needs ahead of time. For example, this includes the Universal Remote control for the garage door, which will activate when the car arrives at the owner's home.

An Executive second-row seating package makes for an even more luxurious environment, bundling two captain's chairs with two 12.6-inch screens, retractable tray tables, wireless phone charging, and more.

Pricier Than A Regular Escalade, But Cheaper Than An Escalade-V

那些想要最好的音频体验将撤销ubtedly spring for the available AKG Studio Reference sound system. With no fewer than 40 speakers littered throughout the cabin, Cadillac promises an immersive 360-degree listening experience. Luxury 2 and Sport 2 trims make do with 36 speakers, while the Luxury 1 and Sport 1 derivatives offer a 19-speaker sound system.

There is space for up to seven passengers in the Escalade IQ. Thanks to the generous exterior dimensions, occupants can enjoy plenty of room, amplified by the fixed panoramic glass roof that lets plenty of sunlight into the cabin. Other high-class elements include laser-etched patterns that enhance the old-world wood inlays and ambient lighting with 126 color options.

Cadillac says production of the Escalade IQ will commence at GM's Factory Zero Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Center next summer. As for pricing, the all-electric Escalade will kick off at $130,000 (including destination charges), making it pricier than the regular ICE-powered Escalade but more affordable than the high-performanceEscalade-V.
