2023 Ford Super Duty Windows Have Developed An Appetite For Fingers

Fortunately, the risk of failure requires a very specific set of circumstances that includes power to the DDM and PDM dropping beneath 6 volts, which is only likely to occur when the windows are in motion while trying to start the trucks when the battery is below 20% charge. Basically, it's a very slim likelihood of the stars aligning in such a fashion while your fingers are dangling out the window.

Ford seemingly can't catch a break this year and still leads the list of automakers with thehighest number of recalls. CEO Jim Farley has admitted this is a problem, and the Super Duty was supposed to be the first model line to test out the brand'snew quality control standardsand protocols.

"These products are critical," said powertrain engineer Paul Murray. "Quality is critical. Good enough is not good enough. We have got to exceed expectations."

This recall is a minor setback, but a setback nonetheless. At least no one has been hurt, and the risk is less severe and widespread than thenearly 900k Ford F-150s recently recalledfor potential parking brake failure.
