Ford's Super Duty range of trucks is already among the most impressive on the planet, with vehicles like theF-250 Super Dutyproving highly capable for just about any task. But with a new model year, customers demand more of everything. Roush has already done its part to make itmore capable off-roadand is also offering anew face for the truck, but what of Ford itself? Well, the Blue Oval today announced some of the features and upgrades you can expect for the 2022 Super Duty range, and they seem like useful changes. Along with new colors and appearance packages, there's also new tech.

Todd Eckert, Ford Truck Group marketing manager, says that Ford is helping its customers "raise their game and get the job done with purposeful technology through the introduction of SYNC 4 with a larger 12-inch screen and 24x7 cloud connectivity for both their truck and mobile devices." This all-new screen is landscape-oriented and offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with the ability to multitask thanks to a split-screen function. This allows one to view navigation, music, truck features, and the new digital owner's manual in various combinations. However, this is only standard on the Lariat and higher trims, while base models get the 4.2-inch system as standard with the SYNC 3 eight-inch display available (standard on XLT trims).

There's also a new Lariat Sport Appearance package for the XLT, with 20-inch Ebony Black wheels, body-color bumpers and grille bars, black Blue Oval badges, and six-inch Ebony Black running boards. New interior colors include Baja for the Lariat, Navy Pier and Light Slate for the Limited, and Atlas Blue exterior paint. It seems that Ford didn't take too kindly toChevrolet besting its towing figureseither, so the Super Duty is now capable of a maximum of 37,000 pounds of gooseneck towing, best-in-class fifth-wheel towing of 32,500, and best-in-class conventional towing of 24,200 pounds. The maximum payload capacity is 7,850 pounds. The new vehicle will be available in the summer.
