The base Tiguan offers some real value, and despite its lame turbocharged four-pot engine and drowsy handling dynamics, it puts up a decent fight in a very competitive part of the SUV market. Still, the SE offers a more substantial package that covers a few more bases and brings the Tiguan closer to the level of competitors such as the Mazda CX-5. The SE features a standard eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a ten-way power-adjustable driver's seat with lumbar control, and wireless phone charging. The SE is our choice out of the Tiguan range.
