The electric Benz was never intended to be a sporty SUV, and this is reflected in its fairly middling performance figures. The front-wheel drive EQB 250+ utilizes a single, front-axle-mounted electric motor with a claimed eight-second 0-60 mph run.

If that's simply too pedestrian for your tastes, the 300 should be more than adequate. The mid-spec model abandons the single-motor FWD setup of the 250+ in favor of all-wheel drive and two electric motors. This cuts the Mercedes EQB SUV's 0-60 time to seven seconds flat. The 350 4Matic is faster still, scooting to 60 mph in six seconds thanks to 288 hp.

Regardless of the selected variant, all EQB models have a top speed of 99 mph. Compared to rivals such as the Tesla Model Y, the Mercedes is trailing behind in the performance stakes. The admittedly more expensive ($65,990) Long Range derivative dispatches 60 mph in 4.8 seconds and has a top speed of 135 mph.

The base EQB 250+ will manage 250 miles on a charge, while the EQB 300 4Matic will manage a claimed 243 miles. The most powerful EQB 350 4Matic has the lowest range at 227 miles. All models have a 70.7 kWh battery pack, which takes 32 minutes to recharge from 10-80% on a DC fast charger. A Level 2 home charger will take nearly eight hours to complete the same.
