While some may appreciate the availability of the Fusion S as a more affordable entry-point to the range, this model simply falls short in too many key areas. The 2.5-liter engine feels lethargic, and its poor performance isn’t even matched by great fuel economy. The SYNC infotainment system virtually begs you to go for the SYNC 3 optional upgrade, but then you may as well go for the SE with its superior overall list of features. This is the model to avoid, even though it has the basic safety features and assist included.
