2023 Lincoln Corsair First Look Review: A Navigator On A Budget

This is a facelift rather than an all-new model, but the better tech means that the price has gone up. The price of the 2023 Lincoln Corsair begins at $38,690 - over $2k more than before. Upgrading to the Reserve costs $43,075, and the Grand Touring plug-in hybrid - reviewed separately - will cost you $53,385 MSRP.

Rivals in this segment are plenty and include Germans like theBMW X3, Audi Q5, andMercedes-Benz GLC-Class. All are pricier than the Corsair and start around the $45k mark. Other than these juggernauts, the Corsair also competes against the Lexus NX, another super comfortable compact crossover. The NX will cost $39,500 in the USA in base form.

The shrunken-Navigator look is not a bad thing, although the elegant Corsair doesn't have the most adventurous design in this class. Several enhancements to the exterior of the Lincoln Corsair have been introduced for 2023, such as an enlarged grille and wing-shaped daytime running lights. For the Corsair Grand Touring, a new sundown satin metallic foil with blue accents for the grille imparts a warmer tone.

New wheel designs give the side view a lift, and there are two new colors for the Lincoln Corsair. These are Crystal Red and Whisper Blue metallics, adding to an existing palette that includes Asher Grey, Ceramic Pearl, Infinite Black, Pristine White, Red Carpet, and Silver Radiance.

As standard, the Corsair comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, but 19- or 20-inch wheels in various finishes are available. With the Jet Black Appearance Package, there are 20-inch black wheels complemented by Pillar Black exterior elements.

The new Lincoln Corsair SUV also comes with standard features such as a power liftgate, rear privacy glass, and automatic high-beam headlights. A panoramic vista roof with a power sunshade is optional on the base models and standard on the top trim.

There is nothing surprising about the Lincoln Corsair's dimensions as it fits neatly into the compact crossover segment. Its length, width (with the mirrors folded), and height work out to 181.4/76.2/64.1 inches, respectively. There are small variances for the Grand Touring plug-in hybrid; this model is 0.2 inches wider and its height is 0.3 inches lower. The wheelbase measures 106.7 inches.

The base Corsair with front-wheel drive weighs 3,685 pounds, increasing to 3,836 lbs in all-wheel-drive guise. As for the PHEV, that model is significantly heavier at 4,397 lbs.

Starting off the Lincoln Corsair engine lineup is the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder model with competitive specs of 250 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. Paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, it should match last year's model, which takes around six seconds for the 0-60 mph sprint. The 2.3-liter engine that was available previously has been dropped, but it was hardly any better than the smaller 2.0-liter anyway.

The Grand Touring PHEV combines a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and an electric motor that makes a combined 266 hp. This model only uses AWD but swaps out the eight-speeder for a continuously variable transmission. Each powertrain has the same maximum towing capacity of 3,000 lbs, too.

EPA评级2023 h模型aven't been revealed yet, but they should match 2022's figures. The regular Corsair returns 22/29/25 mpg city/highway/combined with FWD and 21/29/24 mpg with AWD. With the PHEV, expect 33 mpg and 78 MPGe combined. We review the hybrid in more detail separately, but for what it's worth, this model's battery can be replenished in three to four hours using a 240-volt, Level 2 charger, and it has around 28 miles of electric-only range.

The non-hybrid Corsair has a 16.2-gallon gas tank which is sufficient for a range of approximately 405 miles in its most frugal guise.

It's the Lincoln Corsair interior where customers will most appreciate the changes over the 2022 model. The basic architecture of the dashboard is similar, but a new 13.2-inch touchscreen is far larger than last year's eight-inch display. Coupled with a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, the Corsair feels modern but still has a warm and welcoming ambiance thanks to the high-quality materials. Bridge of Weir Deepsoft leather covers the Lincoln Corsair's seats as standard, and Smoked Truffle and Eternal Red are two new interior color themes. These colors work well in an interior that has a lovely upscale feel.

The front seats are heated, and heated rear seats and 24-way Perfect Position front seats are available. Dual-zone automatic climate control keeps the cabin comfortable, but Lincoln has also added an available Auto Air Refresh function. This removes particles from smog, tobacco smoke, and atmospheric dust.

The Lincoln Co-Pilot360 2.1 suite comes as standard across the range and bundles together intelligent adaptive cruise control, a blind-spot information system, rear parking sensors, speed sign recognition, lane keeping, and more. The big news is the new ActiveGlide 1.2 suite. With this system, convenient hands-free features can be used on compatible highways at speeds of up to 80 mph. Newly available functions include lane change assist for automated lane changes, predictive speed assist that slows down the vehicle ahead of sharp curves, and in-lane repositioning that maintains the vehicle's position in its lane while slightly moving further away from larger vehicles in adjacent lanes. It also includes a driver monitoring camera to track when you get fatigued. Finally, intersection assist 2.0 can prevent collisions with pedestrians when turning.

Listening to your favorite tunes or HD Radio comes courtesy of a Lincoln Premium audio system with ten speakers as standard, while there is an available 14-speaker Revel sound system. A head-up display and wireless charging are also available on the options list.

As before, the cargo space in the Lincoln Corsair is generous rather than class-leading. You get 27.6 cubic feet of volume behind the second row and 57.6 cubes when the rear seat is folded. The PHEV offers slightly less trunk space.
