According to the tuning company's Instagram feed, the car is not running at 100 percent just yet and there are some kinks still to be ironed out, but that makes the following statement all the more impressive: This AWD turbocharged Honda Civic crossed the quarter-mile in just 9.92 seconds, an astonishing achievement.

The time was recorded at a drag racing event called L8-Night in Brandenburg, Germany, in the town of Klettwitz. Scrolling through Ottimoto's social media feeds, it seems that this event is a particular favorite of the tuning company, and it has achieved even lower times with other ridiculously modified Hondas in the past.

年代o what powers this monster? What else but a K-series engine, specifically the K20A2 four-pot. Thanks to a ported head from Schmidt Motoring, along with upgraded rocker arms, intake and exhaust valve, a bigger fuel rail, and a long list of other mods that includes a Garret GT42 turbocharger, the Civic is estimated to produce around 750 horsepower. That's more than you get in aMcLaren 720S.

Clearly, AWD is the best way to put the power down, as we've seen from othersub-10-second passes at the strip. There's no denying that there are many RWD cars that caneasily best this time, but it's the fact that this was achieved with an old chassis and a relatively small engine that makes the feat truly impressive.
