It's a mix-match of JDM things, and we like it.

Bring a Trailerhas started the bid for a car that perhaps die-hardJDM fans would fancy. This 1977 Toyota Celica, finished in a renowned Nissan paint, comes with a Honda engine under the hood. And what's more, the engine has only registered 22,000 miles on the odometer.

That is quite low for a two-decades-old engine, which, in this particular build, is a 2.2-liter F22C inline-four sourced from a Honda S2000. The power plant is the stroked version of the F20C, whichcan rev up to 8,900 rpm,one of the highest-revving engines我n the world. The builder coupled the engine with 48mm Jenvey throttle bodies, a J's Racing tubular header, and a Koyo aluminum radiator. It is also connected to a six-speed manual gearbox and a limited-slip rear end reportedly taken from aCorolla.

While the braking performance is managed by Wilwood four-wheel discs, the suspension has been installed with a long list of mods such as AccuAir springs, Bilstein gas shocks, and Addco sway bars. Completing this part of the vehicle is a set of 16-inch BBS RS wheels in 195/50 (front) and 245/45 (rear) Toyo Proxes R888R tires.

As for the other Japanese marque on the list, the Celica on sale is painted in Nissan's Midnight Purple, which is verypopular with the Skyline GT-Rseries. The exterior is complemented by TRD spoilers, fiberglass bumpers, a lift-off hood, carbon fiber side mirrors, and an A-Spec titanium muffler.

The S2000 equipment list continues into the interior, consisting of a speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. Other interior bits are Bride Stradia Venus II Maziora Edition bucket seats with Takata harnesses, an NRG shift knob, and purple-tinted carbon fiber trims.

All that put together and you have a classic JDM with unmistakable sporty aesthetics inside and out. As of this writing, the current bid is at $15,500, which ends on October 13. The JDM-focused build cannot be sold to an in-state private-party buyer, though, as the California Bureau of Automotive Repair has not inspected it.
