The special Charger is even more powerful than Italian exotica such as the Lamborghini Aventador S, something that costs nearly five times as much.

With a notable power advantage over the AMG, the Redeye is the most obvious contender for first place. Then again, the Mercedes boasts an all-wheel-drive system, allowing it to gain a headstart as the rear-wheel-drive Dodge struggles to gain traction. Evening the scales is the fact that the luxury wagon is slightly heavier than the American brute.

The two V8 monsters thunder down the (unprepared) drag strip, their V8 motors emitting the most glorious exhaust notes. The more subdued E63 has a more sophisticated growl, crackling slightly at higher revs. The Redeye, on the other hand, is raw and visceral, the magnificent bellow in harmony with the whining supercharger.

Doing four runs from a rolling 31 mph start, the immensely powerful Charger clinches victory in three of the four races, losing out to the Mercedes when the rear-wheel-driven sedan struggled to gain traction.

In the interests of fairness, the duo decides to launch the vehicles from a standing start. This gives the E63 S wagon an advantage, the 4Matic+ system ricocheting it down the runway with gusto.
