Toyota Tundra TRD Pro Will Flex its Muscles at Baja 1000

First unveiled at the Chicago Auto Show, the carmaker plans to showcase the off-road ready Tundra TRD Pro's credentials by entering it into the Baja 1000. A "lightly modified" variant of the truck will compete in the Full Size Stock Class, wearing Hella auxiliary lights, off-road suspension, a Chromoly roll cage, high-performance brakes and 17-inch alloys wrapped in 37-inch Baja T/ A KR tires. Inside, Mastercraft racing seats have been fitted along with two navigation systems and a communication system.

Without mentioning numbers, Toyota says the 5.7-liter V8 has been upgraded with a custom cold air intake and cat back exhaust, which should improve upon the standard engine's 381 hp and 401 lb-ft of torque.
