This Learjet-Turned Limousine Is Fully Street Legal

Oh, and it happens to be for sale. Party on.

Limousines are typically forged from the likes of aLincoln MKT,Cadillac XTSand in some cases, an old school Hummer. But we seriously doubt any of those are anywhere near as cool as this. What you're looking at is supposedly the world's only Learjet-turned limousine. Based on an actual Learjet fuselage, it now features a custom-built frame. Instead of jet engines, power comes from a GM-sourced 8.1-liter V8. And in case you're still wondering, it's fully street legal and up for sale. It's scheduled to hit the stage at the Mecum Indy 2020 auction, which has since been postponed until June 23-28.

Anyone can place a bid but nothing was provided regarding a potential price tag. Chances are, this thing will sell for well into six-figures. We think it's worth it.

The work was done by Chicago-based Exotic Coach and took over 40,000 hours to complete. Starting out life as a typical Learjet, the entire conversion project over two years from start to finish. Everything had to be figured out from scratch. There's even a patent-pending rear engine bay, drivetrain, suspension, and computer systems. Where the jet engines once were are now a pair of massive speakers that can play jet engine sound effects while the tips of the tailplane can be folded inward when necessary.

All told, the limo-plane measures 42-feet by 8-feet, rides on 28-inch wheels, and is painted Candy Red. The interior is equally nuts. The cockpit has been transformed into a driver's seat complete with bucket seats and a harness. The four viewing screens have a carbon fiber-look trim.

Occupants will enjoy a 17,000-watt stereo system complete with a 42-inch plasma TV. There are also full leather seats with diamond stitching, refreshment center, and more cupholders than anyone has ever seen in one place. And there's more. The sale not only includes a custom 44-foot trailer but also a2015 Chevy 2500 HDtruck to help haul this thing where it can't be driven.

Despite being a little unusual, this Learjet limousine will almost surely find a buyer. It's simply too cool to pass up.
