Literally, it has art all over it.

Supercars are works of art. With their brash designs and aerodynamic body lines, a supercar like a Lamborghini deserves to sit in a museum next to paintings and sculptures. The art community has, surprisingly, never been close to the automotive community, except when artists decide to paint what is known as an art car.BMW has many famous art carsover the years and Lamborghini wanted to jump in on the action with a specially paintedAventador S.

Lamborghini is showing off the car at the 2019 Monterey Car Week in California, wearing a special paint scheme by street artist Skyler Grey. Grey is just 19 years old and has been called the "Fresh Prince of Street Art" for his iconographic pop style, which has been compared to Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, and Jean-Michel Basquiat.

"Because of the affinity we feel with the world of art, we wanted to experiment with a new creative approach, entrusting Skyler Grey with the interpretation of a car that is already itself a work of art. It is a project connected with our new paint shop in Sant'Agata Bolognese, a place where technology and art meet and where our specialists are tasked with turning our customers' dreams into reality, in the search for aesthetic perfection," said Katia Bassi, Chief Marketing and Communication Officer of Automobili Lamborghini.

The creative process took nearly one year with three weeks in Lamborghini's new paint shop. Arancio Atlas (orange was chosen as a base color to match Grey's typical pop-style and he used typical street art techniques such as airbrushes, spray guns, rollers, and stencils to complete the unique livery.
