With Hyundai's new Electric Global Modular Platform, there's plenty of interior space and a new, movable center console "island" that can make multiple seating arrangements with loads of space possible. Olabisi Boyle, Hyundai's VP of Product Planning & Mobility Strategy, explains that the Ioniq 5 will offer the ability to charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in less than 18 minutes. The car also offers a two-way charger that allows you to power appliances and gadgets. You get two 12.3-inch displays as well, plus a head-up display with augmented reality.

Bluelink gets new features too, including in-car payment that allows you to pay for food, parking, and charging right from the infotainment screen. On top of that, you get unlimited charging for two years at Electrify America's network of over 800 charging stations. A new subscription service will include one payment for the vehicle, maintenance, and charging too, boosting the car's appeal to first-time EV shoppers. It all looks fantastic, and with the car arriving at dealers this fall, we don't have long to wait.
