Want some extra sunshine in an M4? BMW once again has the easy answer.

Set to have its global debut at the New York Auto Show in just a couple weeks' time, the new BMW M4 Convertible today has its online unveiling. We're all familiar with the new M4 Coupe (and the M3 sedan) by now, but the convertible now completes the trio. Like its siblings, the M4 Convertible is powered by the same twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six that produces 425 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque. Buyers can choose either a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, both of which send power to the rear wheels.

As is normally the case, the convertible is heavier than the coupe, specifically 3,530 lbs. vs. 4,055 lbs. That's actually not all that bad and BMW is quick to point out that it managed to reduce the new car's weight by 90 lbs. compared to the previous M3 convertible, the E93. In addition, BMW has managed to increase rear cargo space, for a total of 13 cubic feet with the top up and 7.8 cubic feet with it down. Speaking of which, the that foldable hardtop is a three-piece unit that can be lowered in a mere 20 seconds at speeds up to 11 mph. Sales of the 2015 BMW M4 Convertible will begin this summer and official pricing will be announced at a later date.
