This Could Be The Most Expensive Fox Body Of All Time

1993 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R tipped to break auction record.

Back in January this year, a 1993 Mustang SVT Cobra Rsold through Barrett-Jackson for $132,000, making it the most expensive Fox Body Mustang to go under the hammer. Ford only sold them to licensed racers, and the record car, number eleven of the 107 built, only had 500 miles on the clock. With a 5.0-liter V8 making a total of 235 horsepower, they're not the most powerfulFord Mustangsever built, but the rarity drives the price up now. The record-setter even still had the plastic from the factory over the seats. Now, another 1993 Mustang SVT Cobra R has shown itself, and this one has even fewer miles on the clock.

The title for this one, also heading to auction withBarrett-Jackson, reads as "mileage exempt," but shows 320 on the clock. Like the other one, it comes with the SVT-tuned 5.0-liter V8 engine matched with a T5 5-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. It's also painted in Vibrant Red over an Opal Gray cloth interior. This Cobra R even comes rocking the original SVT paperwork, window sticker, and certificates were signed by Edsel Ford II, Tom Scarello, and O.J. Coletti to verify it's vehicle number 55 of the 107 built. Adding to the collector piece value, 1993 was the last year of the Fox Body Mustang, and SVT Cobra R was its big goodbye.

From what we can see, you couldn't find a more perfect collector piece unless number 1 was to show up in the same condition. That 235 horsepower tuned by SVT was a lot in its day, and the 1993 Mustang SVT Cobra R was racing machine. That means it was stripped of anything deemed essential, including power windows and air conditioning. This one is being sold by its second owner, who bought it in 2016 and will go on the block at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale 2020 event in January.
