Why Modify When You Can Buy These Hardcore Jeeps Readymade

Tuning /5 Comments

You could get two Jeeps for the price of one of these, but they'd never be as capable.

The tuning community, be itfocused on drift cars, off-roaders, or well, really just about anything, typically belongs to one of two schools of thought. You either buy the car and any associated upgrades you plan on installing yourself, or you can follow a trusted recipe and buy a complete vehicle with upgrades pre-installed. Built or bought. That's where American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) comes in. If you've got the scratch, you can have an enhanced off-roader for relatively little money.

Both of the vehicles you see here (theJeep Gladiatorand Wrangler) are built by AEV, and you can buy them. Each features a host of new parts designed to make these off-roaders the best they can be.

Should you fall into the "bought" camp, AEV is happy to oblige. The brand offers a full network of dealers, just like Jeep does. You can simply walk into any number of locations and buy one with mods pre-installed, like the ones you see here. The Gladiator comes upgraded with special "Sarge" green paint, a stamped steel front bumper, a two-inch spacer lift with 2.5-inch DualSports suspension, lights, a winch, and 37inch BF Goodrich Mud-Terrain KM3 tires. In total, the upgrades bring the price of the Gladiator to $85,051 (a standard one costs between $36,000 and $53,000).

The Jeep Wrangler example is largely similar to the Gladiator we just discussed. Thankfully, it is a hair cheaper. AEV wants $79,950, but that's still considerably more than the cheapestWrangler Rubicon at just over $41,000. You'll note the front bumpers are the same as on the upgraded Gladiator Rubicon, but this one also comes with a tubular steel rear bumper. DualSport once again handled the suspension, and the lighting setup is identical to the below Gladiator.

But what if you'd rather build yours than buy it? Supposing you see something you like for your existing Gladiator or Wrangler, you can always go buy the part from AEV and DIY the installation, and more. For some, that's part of the fun. For others, grabbing a turn-key vehicle from AEV might be the right move.
