The Incredible White Collection Made Up Of 56 Porsches Is Up For Sale

Auctions /8 Comments

The entire collection will be auctioned by RM Sotheby's this December.

A stunning 56-car-strong collection of white-painted classic and iconic Porsches is heading to auction later this year, with RM Sotheby's proudly presenting The White Collection. The auction will take on December 1-2 in Houston, Texas. The owner of the collection's identity has not been disclosed, but it's likely a purist. The collection seems to have been多年来规模but still has an enviable array of Porsches.

Almost every example has been finished in factory white paint and sourced by a discerning collector over many years. Most vehicles are in their original state, and all sport exceptionally low mileage. The auction includes two vintage Porsche tractors and plenty of memorabilia that any discerning enthusiast would appreciate.

While all the vehicles in the collection are exceptional, some are more special than others. We're going to look at six of the most impressive Porsches, from a classic 356 B Carrera 2 to a 2015 918 Spyder.

1963 Porsche 356 B Carrera 2 2000 GS Coupe by Reutter

One of just 278 examples made, this 1963 356 B Carrera 2 GS Coupe was manufactured in late 1962 and made its way to the famous Porsche dealership Competition Motors in Los Angeles. Finished in a tasteful Ivory over blue, this example spent some time in California before being shipped off to New Jersey, where it spent plenty of time.

During its six decades of life, the GS Coupe received a restoration, where it received several minor updates. Acquired by The White Collection in 2015, this is a desirable example of the 356 B. It's powered by a 2.0-liter that produces around 130 horsepower. The estimated selling price is pegged at $650,000-$750,000.

1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 Lightweight

Arguably the most desirable of all911models, this 1973 911 Carrera RS 2.7 is one of just 200 examples built with the sought-after Lightweight specification. This model is a rare US-delivery car and retains its numbers-matching Type 911/83 magnesium-crankcase engine and five-speed transmission.

The vehicle still has its original order form, which shows it was specified with a heated rear window, three-point seat belts, and the special Sport package, which reduces weight by 200 pounds.

The original owner immediately resprayed the vehicle blue and also made several other changes to the car. However, the second owner quickly returned the car to factory condition.

In 2011, it was purchased by The White Collection, and the car enjoyed additional restorative work to bring it closer to perfection. As one of the more valuable cars in the collection, RM Sotheby's estimatesthe iconic Porschewill sell for $1,750,000-$2,000,000.

1993 Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 3.8

The '93 911 Carrera RSR 3.8 is a true unicorn and perhaps one of the most exclusive cars in the entire collection. The RSR was built by Porsche Motorsport and is the last of the51 race-prepped examples ever produced. If that wasn't enough, it's one of two road-legal "Strassenversion" models, making it an exceptional motorcar.

Ordered new by a Porsche VIP, the car was delivered to the United Kingdom in 1996 and boasts an impressive list of optional extras. A full leather interior, trimmed in Can Can Red and Grand Prix White upholstery, is one of the unique features, along with a twin ignition "Le Mans" 3.8-liter engine, a passenger seat, gold brake calipers, and a locking rear differential.

The vehicle was obtained by The White Collection in 2015, with the odometer indicating just 41 miles at the time. Expect this model to sell for as much as $2,500,000, but we wouldn't be surprised if it sells for more, considering its provenance and unique spec.

1994 Porsche 911 Turbo S X85 'Flat-Nose'

Like the RSR above, the 911 Turbo S 'X85' is a desirable iteration of the 964 generation. However, it couldn't be any more different from the RSR. Yes, the Turbo S is a brutally fast motorcar, but it doesn't sacrifice creature comforts in the pursuit of performance.

This particular example sports the rare 'Flat-Nose' option, which increased the price by a whopping $60,000. The '94 Turbo S also benefits from an array of unique Porsche Exclusive features, such as heated leather seats, velour floor mats, and Light Rootwood inlays for the dashboard, parking brake, and shifter.

The Cashmere Beige interior works beautifully with the Grand Prix white paintwork. Polished 18-inch RS Cup wheels and a powered sliding sunroof are also part of the package. The handbuilt 964 Turbo was always desirable, but a starring rolein the action movieBad Boyselevated it further, with scores of fans falling in love with the German sports car. This example is estimated to sell for $1,500,000-$2,000,000.

1997 Porsche 911 GT2

The 1997 911 GT2 is another exceptionally rare Porsche in the collection. One of 17 new examples supplied to Japan (and 194 worldwide), the GT2 is considered the ultimate iteration of the 993 generation andone of the best 911s ever. It was initially built as a homologation special so that Porsche would meet the requirements for GT2 racing.

它由一个涡轮增压3.6升引擎that produces 430 horsepower. All that muscle is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. This example is generously equipped with power steering, air-conditioning, and radio, bringing civility to this road-going racer.

This Glacier White GT2 was exported to Germany in 2009 and later went on to live in Italy. It was then acquired by The White Collection in 2016 and has since been treated to a restoration process. RM Sotheby's estimates the vehicle will sell for between $2,000,000-$2,200,000.

2015 Porsche 918 'Weissach' Spyder

A 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder with the Weissach package is described as the jewel of The White Collection. We don't know where to begin with this one. With just 12 miles on the odometer, this 918 Spyder has $96,000 worth of bespoke options from Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, costing over $1 million new.

Supplied new to The White Collection, the vehicle was specified with a paint-to-sample Grand Prix White exterior finish and an entire leather-to-sample Yachting Blue interior. The optionalWeissach performance packageincludes magnesium wheels with center-locking wheel nuts, exposed carbon fiber detailing, and other special touches.

Custom-specified matte carbon fiber interior trims can be found in the interior, with the Yachting Blue leather found just about everywhere. The supple hide covers the headliner, windscreen surround, door panels, and A-pillars, with Biano Leda headrest embroidery and Yachting Blue seatbelts. This spec is so exclusive that Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur emailed the owner, "Please keep this option content confidential. Porsche AG does not want this offered to anyone else as they do not have the capacity to do this more than once."

The estimated selling price is around $2,500,000-$3,000,000.

In addition to the above listings, The White Collection also includes a Weissach-equipped 2019 GT2 RS, the wonderfully crisp 2016 991 R, and a 2010 911 Sport Classic (which is decidedlynotwhite). A 2011 911 Speedster, a 1978 911 SC Martini Championship Edition, a 1977 924 Martini Championship Edition, and a 1965 356 C 1600 SC Coupe by Reutter are also worth an ogle, but dive deeper, and you'll find two Porsche-Diesel Junior Tractors, a Kusch+Co lounge suite inspired by the 918 Spyder, a Porsche car seat, and even skis.
