The Fox-body Mustang, built for a solid 15 years from 1978, is hardly the most popular of theFord Mustangbreed, but it does have a fervent, devoted fan base. That fan base will be frothing at the mouth when they get a good look at this: the "Hoonifox", penned by the same bloke responsible for designing the new Batmobile for the upcoming 2021 Batman flick.

For now, the "Hoonifox" exists only as a rendering, but given Hoonigan's penchant for cobbling togethercrazy, unique custom buildsfor Ken Block to thrash in outfit's viral Gymkhana videos, we wouldn't put a car like this past them.

The Hoonifox was conceptualized by Brian Scotto, Hoonigan co-founder, and Hollywood designer and illustrator Ash Thorp, who was also behind Block's widebodyFord Escort RS Cosworth "Cossie V2". It's arguably even more "out there" than that design, with a similar widebody stance, peaky fender vents, a gargantuan rear spoiler, and an intake scoop that could probably just about swallow a turkey whole.

Only a concept for the moment, the Hoonifox is ready to rally with AWD, although Ken Block and friends still have yet to render a decision on what will power it. Potential candidates include an EcoBoost V6, a high-revving Roush-Yates V8, or - get this - the pure-electric powertrain from theFord Mustang Mach-E.

And there's something worth noting on the Hoonifox's rendered livery, too: a Forza Horizon logo. Several of Hoonigan's past creations, including Block's 1965 "Hoonicorn" Mustang and 1978 Hoonigan Ford Escort RS1800, have made it into the racing game series previously. Even if the Hoonifox is never quite rendered in steel and carbon fiber, there's a good chance it will end up being offered to car fans digitally within the Forza Horizon universe.

That's cool and all, but we're still really hoping this exquisite Fox-body Mustang has the chance to tear it up IRL in Block's next Gymkhana video.
