But only in launch markets.

The US has an insatiable obsession with the old schoolLand Rover Defender. Those blocky Brits have come to define an era of adventure and off-roading, and fully restored models are selling for stupid money stateside. Some have taken advantage of this massive demand, and are restoring these vehicles to better than new condition, and then there's Ineos.

This specialist company is responsible for the Grenadier, a modern interpretation of the classic Defender, which features astunning modern interior, a healthy dose of power thanks to a3.0-liter BMW engine, and all the macho looks the average man could ever ask for. Despiteproduction delays, the order books are finally open for the international market.

This back-to-basics off-road machine might look like a Defender of old, and still uses an old-school ladder chassis, three locking differentials and solid beam axles but features modern tech such as a five-link suspension setup, big Brembo brakes, and all the electronic stability and traction systems you'd expect on a modern adventure machine.

Under the hood sits a modern turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six BMW engine mated to an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission and a two-speed transfer case with high and low range. The exterior features LED headlights, a galvanized steel body, front and rear skid plates, and roof rails.

The interior of the base Grenadier includes Recaro power seats, a central infotainment display with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and navigation, a rearview camera, and climate control system.

The Trailmaster Edition is aimed at hardcore off-road enthusiasts and adds 17-inch steel wheels, a raised air intake, and an exterior utility belt. The rough pack adds locking front and rear differentials, and BF Goodrich A/T tires, as well as luxuries such as front park assist, power heated mirrors, a heated windscreen, and auxiliary charging points.

The 2023 Ineos Grenadier is set to roll off the production line in July, and customers with existing reservations are now able to place their official orders with a $3,500 deposit. The 2023 Ineos Grenadier will be available in launch markets such as Europe, Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, Australia and New Zealand.

The base model will be introduced with a starting price of $59,600, while the Trailmaster and Fieldmaster editions will cost $67,376. US customers can still reserve their Grenadiers for $450. Expect US deliveries to begin in 2023.
