Tastefully Modded BMW 3.0 CS Is One Of BMW's Greatest Hits Made Better

The closest we get to a modern equivalent of the 1973 BMW 3.0 CS is pretty far from what it was. TheBMW 2 Series Coupeis a spiritual successor in theory, but it's nowhere near as beautiful as the 3.0 CS, which has inspired many a designer to在retro-modern时尚致敬. But while the example you see below is beautiful, it could also be a bargain and a great centerpiece for any BMW aficionado's collection.

Available now on Bring a Trailer, the listing states this car has 94,000 miles on the clock. High for one of these, but not unreasonable. Moreover, it's a TMU (total mileage unknown) car, which should drive off those looking to stick thisin a climate-controlled wine cellar for cars.

As the name suggests,BMW fitted this car with a 3.0-liter engine, but that's since gone the way of the dodo. In its place is a 3.5-liter M30 inline-six. It's also fuel injected, so no fretting over carbs if you want to actually use this car. This engine has been tuned as well, so expect more than the M30's 215 hp and 229 lb-ft of torque.

While the original car came with an auto 'box, that's been replaced; in its stead is a five-speed manual. The mods don't stop there either. An aftermarket head unit and sunroof have been installed, and the car has been resprayed in Deep Sea Metallic. Finally, some killer 16-inch mesh BBS wheels sit under those subtly-flared fenders and a wooden Nardi steering wheel is fitted inside for a period-correct look that we're loving.
