Singer Is Working On The Ultimate Porsche 911 Turbo

Big things are happening at Singer Vehicle Design. Last month, the California-based boutique company reportedlyinked a deal with Porsche Motorsport North Americathat'll see the German carmaker build engines for Singer to its precise specifications. Until then, Singer isn't slowing down withstunning new projects. The latest is its first street-legal turbochargedPorsche 911.

The Turbo Study, as always, begins with a 964-generation 911 but things quickly get interesting. Styling is directly influenced by the 930 Turbo, the first Porsche 911 Turbo generation. The results already speak for themselves. The folks at Singer claim over 70 individuals have already placed an order for a restored 964 based on what you're seeing here. It's nice to have that kind of extra dough.

The Turbo Study is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter flat-six engine that's good for at least 450 horsepower. Like with the exterior and interior styling, Singer says buyers can decide the final output. They can also pick from either rear- or all-wheel drive setups, both of which utilize a six-speed manual gearbox. Additional cool features found in the Turbo Study include a carbon ceramic braking system, electrically adjustable and heated seats, and air-conditioning.

The example shown here boasts a lightweight carbon fiber body painted in Wolf Blue while the interior is shown in Malibu Sand with Black Forest wood accents. Simply stunning. Also take note of a new evolution of the "Metzger" air-cooled flat-six, itself a piece of art just to stare at.
