Shelby Reveals Limited-Edition F-150 To Honor Carroll Shelby

Shelby has released another special edition of itsF-150Super Snake as a tribute to its founder,the late Carroll Shelby. The Carroll Shelby Centennial Edition is limited to just 100 units and is the most powerful street-legal, street-focused truck the tuner has ever produced.

Of course, that's largely dependent on the chosen specification. As standard, the Centennial Edition trucks offer 400 horsepower thanks to the standard 5.0-liter V8 engine. However, an optional supercharger doubles the output to 800 hp, an immense amount of power for a truck. Remember, the newF-150 Raptor R产生700马力。

But unlike the Raptor, the Centennial Edition is tuned to be as agile on the street as possible. The Ridetech Suspension System boasts front-mounted Fox coilover shock absorbers with new upper control arms. The rear benefits from improved sway and track bars and adjustable Fox shocks.

"We took the same approach to this commemorative model by adding more power, increasing the stopping power, and giving it the distinctive Shelby good looks," said Vince LaViolette, Shelby American Vice President of Operations. "The result is a fast four-door street truck with the awesome capabilities that Carroll Shelby expected. Having spent so many years working directly with him, I'm confident Carroll would be proud of this truck."

It's certainly a looker, with a more aggressive body kit, racing stripes, and larger wheels. The lack of chrome trim provides it with a sporty aesthetic, helped by the lowered ride height. Shelby has also worked on the interior, creating a more luxurious environment for customers.

The seats have been trimmed in black leather upholstery with Centennial Edition logos on the backrests. Carbon fiber trim adds an athletic touch, along with the "race red" lighting, special floor mats, and tinted windows.
