SCOOP: Volkswagen Tiguan Getting Rugged Peak Edition Trim

A new trademark filing suggests that the2024 Volkswagen Tiguanis about to get more rugged. VW filed a trademark with theUSPTOon July 28, 2023, for the name "Tiguan Peak Edition." As a reminder, VW alreadysells a Peak Edition versionof the larger Atlas, which was recentlyrefreshed for the 2024 model year.

Judging by what we know about the Atlas Peak Edition, we can mostly predict what the Tiguan Peak Edition will be like. This won't be a hardcore off-roader to rival a Toyota TRD Pro, but just for fun, we rendered a few examples of what such a Tiguan-based creation would look like. In our personal opinion, they look pretty cool.

The production Tiguan Peak Edition will likely get similar upgrades found on the Atlas, including lower body cladding, black wheels with all-terrain tires, black exterior accents, and a unique interior with orange stitching. We also wouldn't be surprised if the Tiguan shares two new colors, Avocado Green and Pure Grey, which are only available on the Peak Edition. Of course, VW may also decide to give the smaller Peak Edition its own special paint options and there will be a few "Peak Edition" logos on the fenders.

Don't expect to see any serious off-road upgrades such as skid plates, a substantial lift kit, or locking differentials.
