The Honda CR-Z performance version will be supercharged and head to the UK early next year.

According to the latest report by AutoExpress UK, the performance version of the Honda CR-Z will be making its way to the UK beginning in early 2012. Mugen, Honda's in-house tuning compadres, are currently developing the new vehicle. The 2012 CR-Z iCF Mugen will be powered by the same 1.5-liter engine, however it will be fitted with a centrifugal supercharger system along with a remap of the engine's ECU.

Power should be boosted to over 50 percent of the original car's output, meaning around 178hp. The impressive figure falls short of the Mugen CR-Z concept's potential power figure, which was 197 hp. Performance figures are measured at a 0-60mph time of 6.1 seconds and a top speed of over 130mph. In terms of pricing, AutoExpress UK reports that a total of £23,000 has been confirmed. An insider was quoted as saying "We have deliberately tried to keep the price down. There is no point in doing a £30,000 CR-Z."

Mugen dealers in England expect to get the CR-Z Mugen by February before it goes on sale throughout the entire Honda network in the summer. Photos displayed are of the 2011 Honda CR-Z Mugen Concept.
