Nissan 370Z And Frontier Taken To The Extreme For SEMA

This year's SEMA show is stacking up to be one of the greats. Nissan has brought some real heat to the show this year, and our two favorites are the amped-up Nissan Global Time Attack TT370ZandNissan FrontierDesert Runner, the second of which gains a couple of extra cylinders for hammering through the badlands.

The transformation of Nissan's inoffensive mid-sized truck is extensive and starts with an engine swap. Nissan has pulled out the 4.0-liter V6 engine and replaced it with a 5.6-liter Endurance V8 from aNissan Titanfull-size pickup. That engine has also been rebuilt and turbocharged in order to make over 600 horsepower and 700 lb-ft of torque.

From there, power for the Frontier Desert Runner is transferred through the drivetrain by a Nissan 6-speed manual transmission with a Jim Wolf Technology clutch and lightweight flywheel. Just as aggressive is the suspension modification, which features a BTF Fabrication long-travel front suspension kit, King Racing Triple Bypass front shocks and coilovers, and rear King Racing Triple Bypass shocks matched to Giant Motorsports Link Killer rear leaf springs. The rubber that meets the dirt is 37-inch BFGoodrich Baja T/A tires mounted on Fifteen52 TurboMac HD wheels. On the outside, those are Fiberworx Pre Runner fenders fitted by MA Motorsports, who also fabricated the new bumpers and custom spare tire carrier.
