New Tesla Model 3 Performance Could Finally Be Getting The Seats It Deserves

When the heavily revised Model 3broke cover in early September, Tesla did not mention the Performance model. The top-spec model is all but confirmed, with leaked information suggesting the facelifted version willarrive with a new electric motorand, presumably, more horsepower. But even if it doesn't, the new model is approximately 140 lbs lighter than the outgoing Model 3, which should positively affect acceleration and handling.

According to@klwttson X, the Model 3 Performance may be offeredwith a Ludicrous mode, as suggested by the unique badging found on the tailgate. However, this is yet to be confirmed, so we will have to wait and see. Tesla famously lacks a PR department and often reveals new cars and trims with little to no warning.

Images from a parts catalog show a variety of wheels, including some rather athletic-looking designs and performance brakes. The Model 3 will reportedly gain a redesigned manual door release mechanism elsewhere. Tesla has alsorepositioned the emergency gear selectorin the new Model 3.
