New Porsche x Recaro Bucket Seat Is Rarer Than The 911 S/T

Only 1,911 of these will be sold.

To celebrate the 60th Anniversary of thePorsche 911, the German marque released a swank-looking gaming chair with long-time partner Recaro. Specifically, it was developed by Porsche Design, called the Recaro x Porsche Gaming Pepita - Ltd.

This is the second time the two companies have worked together to create a gaming/office chair. The previousPorsche x Recaro chairwas rolled out in January 2023, using a black, red, and gray color combination. This newer gaming chair, however, looks a bit subtler thanks to its use of the eye-catching Pepita houndstooth fabric on its backrest and seat. This is the same pattern and material used on thePorsche 911 Classic Club Coupe- a one-off sold for a whopping $1.2 Million in June.

The elegant houndstooth cloth combines breathable black fabrics on the chair's side panels, adjustable armrests, and headrests. The latter also gets a Recaro logo up front, while the rear features a Porsche logo, just as the seats would on the brand's lineup of sports cars.

The main structure of the seat back is formed by a hard shell, also colored in black. And, of course, its seatback gets a car-themed design, as expected from something born out of these brands.

Aluminum legs and durable copolymer-reinforced casters support the seat's entire weight. It has an ergonomic design with a firm lumbar support structure to ensure optimum comfort even during long gaming sessions or office work. On top of that, the fabrics used in the chair are breathable and can easily dissipate heat.

Height adjustment for the Porsche x Recaro chair ranges from 19.6 inches to 23.6 inches, while its armrest can be adjusted with a height range of 6.6 inches to 10.6 inches. The chair weighs 58.6 pounds and has a load capacity of up to 330 lbs.

While all that sounds good, the chair is a limited-edition product of which only 1,911 units will be sold. This makes it just as exclusive as those kicks from thePorsche x Puma sneaker collectionand rarer than the celebratory 911 S/T of which 1,963 will be made, celebrating the year in which the 911 was launched.

The chair is also priced at $3,000 on thePorsche Design online store, making it more expensive than many other premium office/gaming chairs in the market right now. But hey, you can technically call it a Porsche, right?
