New BMW X5 M Spied For The First Time

We've known for a while now that BMW isworking on a facelift for the X5 Mto keep the performance SUV looking fresh against the growing competition for a few more years. This is just one of many model updates BMW is working on, as the3 Series, 8 Series, X6, andX7, are also being refreshed.

Back in April, our spies spotted aBMW X5 Mtest mule with a brand new interior. Apart from the provisional lights, the exterior looked identical since the test mule was based on the current X5 M. Now, development has advanced, and the exterior has been updated, giving us a first look at the design changes we can expect to see on the new X5 M.

Camoflague applied to the front indicates that the X5 M will be updated with a redesigned bumper and restyled kidney grilles, but it doesn't look like they will be as large as the grille on the M3 and 4 Series. The headlights will also be redesigned, but this early prototype is still fitted with provisional headlights.

As development continues, it shouldn't be too long until another prototype gets spied with production headlights. Minor changes will be applied to the back such as new taillight graphics.
