Honda's electrification strategy is gathering steam.

本田并没有带电的阵容same pace as other automakers, but the same can be said of Toyota and Mazda. The Japanese automakers tend to be more conservative with introducing newer technologies, so this isn't a great surprise. But this doesn't mean thatHonda's EV strategyisn't already underway. The Prologue all-electric SUV is coming to America, and Honda recently announced apartnership with technology giant Sonyto make EVs together. We now have an idea of what Honda's EV lineup could be called, and it seems like the Japanese marque is keeping things as simple as possible based on new trademarks filed with the European Union Intellectual Property Office.

Discovered byCarBuzz, the names are alpha-numeric and range from the e:Ny2 to the e:Ny9. We assume there'll be an e:Ny1 too. Obviously, theein each of the eight names leads us to believe that these are all fully electric models. These names are similar to the range ofe:N concepts revealed by Hondalast year, with theesignifying Honda's eTechnology and theNstanding for new or next. At the time, Honda said there would be three platforms - FWD, RWD, and AWD - and the e:NS1 SUV concept had one electric motor making 201 horsepower. A GT and a coupe were also shown. This naming convention is similar toKia's electric range, with models like the Kia EV1 and EV9 on the way to join the existingEV6. With that, the e:Ny3, e:Ny4, e:Ny5, e:Ny6, e:Ny7, and e:Ny8 could all fit within the sizing spectrum to create models for different size and space needs.

Honda hasn't revealed much more information at all about its next-generation EVs, but we do know that the first one under the New Company umbrella is scheduled to arrive in 2025. Considering that eight apparent EV names were trademarked, it looks like Honda is planning everything from city runabouts to larger, more luxurious SUVs. The company is also planning to launch a small electric commercial vehicle in 2024. Chiefly, it'll need to come up with competitive electric alternatives for popular models like theCivic, Accord, and CR-V in the years ahead. If the "e:Ny" lineup is as charming as the adorable Honda e hatchback, we have a lot to look forward to.
