"Adaptive light functions as a world first in a production automobile."

After a series of spy shots and rumors, Mercedes-Benz has now revealed the front-fascia of its upcoming 2015 CLS four-door coupe and shooting brake models. The reveal focuses on the two models' unique headlights, featuring Benz's new MULTIBEAM technology. Equipped with four fast-responding, high-res LED modules, the headlights are comprised of 24 individually-and-electronically-controlled chips.

The units collaborate with a windshield camera to determine the best light pattern, increasing headlight range by 20 percent. The lights can also swivel outwards in low-beam setting, offering an "anticipatory camera-based active light function." Also new on the front end of the CLS is a reshaped grille and new bumper. The next CLS model is also expected to feature Mercedes' new 9G 9-speed transmission.
